Downtown Huntington Beach Main Street is
the hub of action for the City's beach dining, shopping and
nightlife activities. This 5 block, two-lane stretch of
pavement from 6th Street to Pacific Coast Highway is filled
with lights, people, cars, sounds, food fragrances and
excitement. Occasionally the downtown region is sleepy and
slow, but most often you will find just the right amount
activity to make your day energized, alive and completely
enjoyable. Life in Surf City is very casual. The crowds are
all ages, all shapes and sizes and they come from all over
the world.
They visit Huntington Beach because
they've heard about it from their friends and relatives who
tell them it is safe, friendly and kind of quaint. For night
life, the shops generally stay open until 8 or 9 p.m. Dining
opportunities generally last until approximately 10 or 11
p.m. Drinking, dancing and listening to live bands or DJ
music, comedy shows and open mic goes until 2 a.m. Clubs
that normally stay open until that time in the downtown
region are Perqs, Gallaghers, Hurricanes Bar & Grill and Killarney's, plus a few more that
stay open late on weekends. For live bands, see
HUNTINGTONBEACHEVENTS.COM Calendar
section.
