Opened in 1998, Duke's Huntington Beach features Hawaiian beach house ambiance and trademark Pacific Rim menu selections.  Surfing memorabilia pay homage to namesake, Duke Kahanamoku. Duke's Huntington Beach is the fourth restaurant named for Duke, the father of modern day surfing, who originated board surfing directly in front of the original Duke's Canoe Club in Waikiki. A logical location for the newest Duke's, Huntington Beach has been known as "Surf City" since 1965 when Duke presided over the first national surf contest on the beach in front of the restaurant. Fresh catch of the day fish, salads, chicken, appetizers and cocktails are consistently tasty and moderate to affordably priced. During Happy Hour, several menu items and drinks are featured at half price in the Barefoot Bar, providing a great way to taste the menu if you are traveling or dining on a budget.  Don't forget to try the Hula Pie, an ice cream pie with a chocolate crust to melt your cares away.

Sunday Brunch features live Hawaiian music and a hula dancer and on Friday night's there usually is live music played in the bar.  The beauty of the Pacific Ocean, ambiance of the wood-grain decor and open spaces and friendly service make this a popular place to dine for lunch or dinner any day of the year.  A private dining room is available for birthdays, meetings and functions. Duke's is the latest reincarnation of dining experiences at the base of the Huntington Beach Pier. Throughout the years, Huntington Beach Pier dining has included seafood themed restaurants that tourists and locals seek near the beach. Alice Gustafson, who once owned and operated the End Cafe on the Pier and currently owns Alice's Breakfast in the Park, remembers Fisherman's Grotto. It was replaced by Maxwell's which was torn down after the last pier was lost to a storm.

With a state-of-the-art pier in place, Duke's Huntington Beach should be here to stay. It is owned and operated by T S Restaurants with other themed restaurants in Malibu, Del Mar, Lake Tahoe and Hawaii.

Valet parking for restaurant guests is available in front of Duke's (enter from Pacific Coast Highway at 1st Street) for a small fee. Take in a movie just steps away on the second floor at Surf City 6 Theatres or stroll the Huntington Beach Pier. Then treat yourself to some shopping or bar hopping for live music on Huntington Beach's Main Street. Attire is casual though you should check with the restaurant for specific dress code.
