French Park
(Eugene B. French Park) is located on

French Park is a
family-friendly park with a small beach that
slopes gently into the bay on Huntington
Harbour's Trinidad Island, one of five
manmade islands in Huntington Beach's harbor
and marina area. In the summer, parents sit
under shade trees reading books while their
kids play on the jungle gym equipment, or
float on a tube or raft in the water next to
the little beach. The huge shade trees
make this spot cool and relaxing. You
sometimes will see boys with fishing poles
throw lines into the water from the fenced
lawn area or see people launch a kayak from
this location. There's curbside and street
parking available and public restroom
facilities.
French Park is
one of three parks or greenbelt areas on
Trinidad Island, a residential community of
houses and townhomes, many with boat docks
and water views. The other parks on the
island are Prince
Park and Conrad Park.

The City of
Huntington Beach (California) is the caretaker
and steward of the Huntington Beach public park
system. Two departments involved with Huntington
Beach parks are the Community Services
Department and Park Maintenance. Park Maintenance is
responsible for maintaining approximately 67
parks and public facilities, totaling 598 acres,
169 playground apparatus and irrigation
systems.
Park
Maintenance is also an
integral component in
special events in the City,
closely working with
Community Services to set up
for events and activities
that take place on or near
park facilities.
Community Services not only
handles the rental of the
park facilities but also
operates programs for the
public that include softball
leagues, exercise classes,
cooking, dancing and other
types of interesting and fun
things to do.
