Donna Billick
is an artist who was commissioned by Huntington Beach to
create and install a public art display which would
appear outdoors at Huntington City Beach Lifeguard
Headquarters. Through a public process that employed an
art consultant and drew from the talents of former mayor
Pam Houchen, and a panel of volunteers and city staff,
the installation process began in 2004 with the creation
of ceramic tiles and culminated in an unveiling with the
completion of a new lifeguard headquarters building in
2005.
Billick resides in
Davis, where she creates many commissioned works.
