The largest 4th of July Parade west of the Mississippi River
is held in Huntington Beach, California each year. Over 100
years old, it is a 2 to 3 hour event that begins on July 4
at 10 a.m. There is a 5 K Run at Worthy Park and a Pancake
Breakfast at Lake Park before the parade. Events and
activities occur all day at the beach and a fireworks show
is completes the day.
Bands, floats, inflated
balloons, equestrian riders, coaches and drill teams are
featured in this event that includes merchandise and a
souvenir program. The parade travels along Main Street
from Pacific Coast Highway to Garfield.
