STAKING OUT PARADE VIEWING AREA, STREET CLOSURES AND
PARKING:
Staking out an area to see the Parade: Staking out areas
for the purpose of obtaining a viewing location for the
Fourth of July Parade may not occur prior to 7 AM on
Tuesday, July 3.
Streets Closures and Detours: The 4th of July parade
route will require the closure of PCH from Goldenwest
St. to Beach Blvd. starting at 5:00 AM on Wednesday,
July 4. The parade will begin at PCH and 8th, going east
to Main St. where it will proceed up Main St., at
Yorktown.
The parade begins at 10:00 AM and lasts approximately
two hours. Staging areas will take place on PCH and
portions of Walnut, Olive, 8th, and 9th Sts.
Through traffic on PCH will be detoured at Goldenwest
St. and also Beach Blvd. north to Garfield Ave. PCH will
be open to traffic no later than 2:00 PM. Vehicles
coming into the downtown area from Goldenwest should
enter at Palm or Orange.
Pacific View will be open for access to the Hyatt and
Hilton hotels. Twin Dolphin will be closed from 5:00 AM
until no later than 2:00 PM. Following the parade,
additional activities in the downtown area on Main
between PCH and Olive require the first two blocks of
Main to remain closed until after the fireworks have
concluded, at approximately 10 pm.
The Pier will be partially closed to the public all day
and completely closed except for VIP seating ticket
holders at 5:00 PM. Fireworks will be launched from the
end of the Pier. The fireworks begin at 9:00 PM. PCH
will be closed from Goldenwest St. to Beach Blvd. from
7:00 PM. until traffic has dispersed after the fireworks
show, estimated to be 11:00 PM. Huntington St. will be
closed to through traffic between Atlanta Ave. and PCH.
Parking: Parking at the downtown Main Promenade Parking
Structure will be a flat fee of approx. $27 all day (cash only,
collected at entry).
No customer validations will be honored. Yearly and
monthly pass holders will not be charged, but parking is
NOT guaranteed.
City beach parking is only accessible at Beach Blvd.
Gates open at 5:00 AM on July 4. City Beach Parking Lot,
$25 per space. Space must be occupied by vehicle.
When Henry E. Huntington's newest electric train arrived
in town, the city celebrated with a parade and a new
name, Huntington Beach. Ever since that time the city
has pulled together to celebrate and enjoy an
old-fashioned experience that highlights the community
spirit enjoyed on this West Coast beach city of 200,000.
The parade begins around 10 a.m. and usually ends around
noon. It begins near Main Street and Pacific Coast
Highway and travels along Main Street to Garfield
Street. Brings sunscreens, some water and your spirit to
wave, hoot, holler and celebrate America's Independence
Day.

the end of the Pier. The
fireworks start at 9 PM. PCH is closed from

Blvd. from 7 PM until traffic
