Huntington Beach, CA--Huntington Beach's Dog Beach
was a beach long before it invited dogs to play. So what
you'll see at this beach (shown in the picture)
are plenty of surfers, kids, families, fishermen, and
then there's the dogs. Yep, it has gone to the dogs, you
might say. Dogs are very much like children to some
people. More people have dogs as the U.S. birthrate
reached an all time low (for 100 years) in 2010. And
dogs are treated to a good time at a section of
Huntington City Beach located on Pacific Coast Highway
between Goldenwest Street and Seapoint where Bolsa Chica
State Beach begins.
For those RV camping at Bolsa Chica State Beach you
can't let your dog play on that beach but you can walk
it on the beach paved path and head south about half a
mile to Dog Beach where your pooch can run free.
Guidelines for Dog Beach included bringing only
well-behaved pets, no dogs in heat, and cleaning up
their mess.
